When the National Brotherhood of Skiers, was founded in 1972, blacks were a small minority in the world of skiing. As the sport’s popularity grew within our community, membership expanded, and several additional clubs were formed. The Texas Ski Rangers, founded in 1984, is one of five predominately black ski clubs in the state. We promote minority youth and adult snow sports participation and opportunities while encouraging community involvement through local social activities. About Us
My name is Brion Jackson
Hey TSR Fam (and future TSR fam),
Can you believe it? 25 years strong—and still riding high! I’m so proud to be part of this incredible club and honored to serve as your president for another exciting year.
To our members—old and new—you’re the heartbeat of this club. Your energy, support, and enthusiasm fuel everything we do. And trust me, there’s a lot going on!
Yes, we love snow sports. But we’re way more than just skis and snowboards. We hike, bike, walk, dance, skate, travel, and gather—locally and internationally. Whether it’s a neighborhood trail or an overseas adventure, we’re always in motion. Why? Because we believe in keeping the heart, mind, and body healthy through outdoor activity.
Our mission? It’s bold: to introduce more minorities to snow sports and—fingers crossed—help launch someone into the Olympic Games one day. We're building a legacy, and it starts with showing up, trying new things, and creating space where everyone feels welcome.
We’re also one-of-a-kind because of you. Our members bring serious skills to the table, and we love to connect those dots—whether it’s job leads, health and wellness tips, or just helping each other grow. This club is a space to network, share, and support one another.

Ready to turn your winter wanderlust into reality?
Becoming a member of Texas Ski Rangers gives you access to unforgettable ski trips, off-season activities, health and wellness events, and a community that loves snow as much as you do.
Member Socials
In addition to winter activities, we also have several non-sporting events which include the annual Leather and Lace Dance, fashion shows, family picnics, lake-outings and joint participation in social events with other area organizations, just to name a few.
Volunteer Events
As a volunteer, you can assist with planning the event on one of many levels. You might be involved in overall event planning, or you can lead or join a team and help plan team fundraisers and coordinate your team’s day-of-event activities. There are also opportunities for people who aren’t on teams and want to volunteer their time as individual participants or onsite volunteers.
Ski Trips
The Texas Ski Rangers offers travel and recreational opportunities to many renowned resorts in the United States, Canada and other hot spots around the globe. To ensure that members receive the best bargains at premium locations, we are continually researching and preparing for upcoming events 12 months a year.
